Egan Maritime Institute’s Summer Speaker Series 2010 with Dr. Robert Ballard
Starting on June 24th, The Egan Maritime Institute will present a series of acclaimed authors for the 2010 Summer Speaker Series. Headlining the series will be award winning author Michael Tougias, National Book Award winner; Nantucket resident, national award-winning author and historian, Nathaniel Philbrick, and accomplished deep-sea explorer, Dr. Robert Ballard, best known for the historic discovery of the sunken RMSTitanic. On August 16, Dr. Robert Ballard will be lecturing on Adventure in Deep Sea Exploration presented by the Egan Maritime Institute at the Great Harbor Yacht Club. Dr. Ballard will speak at a Family Presentation from 3-4 pm. Adult prices are $25 per ticket, and students are $10 per ticket. Dr. Ballard will also lecture, following a Cocktail Reception, from 5-6 pm. Tickets are $100 per person. 60 Union Street, Nantucket. Proceeds from this event will benefit the Maritime Festival on Saturday, September 25, sponsored by the Egan Maritime Institute and reMain Nantucket. Tickets for the Family Reception are $25 for adults and $10 for students. Tickets for the lecture following the Cocktail Reception are $100 per person.
